Over 80 volunteers comprised of the owners’ family and staff, members of the LaundryCares Foundation and Coin Laundry Association, laundry professionals from near and far, and local generous supporters – helped make this event successful in a variety of ways including:

  • Taking registrations
  • Helping to load and unload laundry carts into and out of the stores
  • Helping to operate the machines
  • Serving food and beverages
  • And helping read and attend to the children.

Guests were not only treated to complimentary laundry services, but, thanks to donors and sponsors, they also received free soap, free laundry bags, food including pizza and ice cream, cold beverages, and entertainment from a local DJ. There were also a bouncy house, face painting, and gift bags for the kids.

Learning Space Installation

An installation of an official “Wash Time Is Talk Time” learning center by Too Small to Fail was one of the highlights of this Free Laundry Day experience. Members of the Too-Small-to-Fail team brought books and furniture to create the perfect environment for reading and learning at the local laundry. One of the hallmarks of the LaundryCares Foundation is the partnership with organizations dedicated to promoting childhood development and learning such as Too Small to Fail and Libraries Without Borders. These partnerships help LaundryCares to fulfill our vision of making laundromats within communities conduits for education for children.
